Day 8 by Ella

We started the day off at Kikar Rabin which was the location where Yitzchak Rabin was assassinated. It was really interesting to hear about his commitment to finding peace and the unfortunate outcome of it all. Following this we went to the Rabin museum/centre to gain an even greater knowledge about Rabin. The museum was very cool in that it showed a timeline with different events that have occurred throughout the years. After we went to Shuk HaCarmel and the Nachlat Benyamin artists market for lunch and shopping. There was so much beautiful jewellery, handmade art pieces and delicious food. Once we had finished lunch and some quick shopping we headed over to the Independence Hall which was where David Ben Gurion had first declared Israel as a state. We got to listen to a very great speaker, watch a short movie and film a video for the CJA falafel lunch on Yom HaAtzmaut. We then went back to the artists market for another hour of shopping and while we were there a famous Israeli singer was doing a performance. Following shopping we headed back to our hotel and met on the roof for a Shabbat service, singing and beautiful view. Overall the Israel experience has been amazing so far! I've experienced so many new things that I've always dreamed of doing and I can't wait to go on more adventures in the two weeks we have left!
